The AIA has been actively working to advance policies that help architecture graduates with their student loan debt, and now we need your help.
Although we are pleased that Congress and the White House recently
agreed to extending lower student loan interest rates until July 2013,
architecture graduates still face huge debts when they graduate.
Policymakers need to do more to secure opportunities for millions of
architecture graduates to continue pursuing educational opportunities
while alleviating a hefty financial burden.
That’s why the AIA and the American Institute of Architecture
Students (AIAS) have called on Congress to craft legislation that will
afford architecture students the same kind of student loan relief and
pro bono assistance that have been offered to students of numerous other
professions. This mutually beneficial aid will encourage architecture
students to play an important part in community development and will
keep recent graduates in the profession.
