The Science of Design - Biomimicry | Nicole Isle, Brightworks
What do you want your design to do? As a source of inspiration and a problem-solving method, Biomimicry distills design challenges to functions and then looks to nature for sustainable solutions we have yet to discover. Ms. Isle will unlock Biomimicry’s potential to transform the design industry leaving you curiously energized and humbled by the possibilities.

Biophilic Design  |  Amanda Sturgeon, AIA, International Living Future Institute
For centuries people have understood how to build buildings that are distinctly connected to their place; today Biophilic Design demonstrates an outline for us to re-kindle that. Amanda Sturgeon will describe her experience in Civita di Bagnoregio Italy, an ancient hill town north of Rome, where she observed the principles of Biophilic Design on a fellowship with the North West Institute for Architectural & Urban Design Studies in Italy (NIAUSI). What she learnt provides a pathway toward connecting people and nature in our buildings.

Fee: $45 which includes dinner and AIA CEUs
